8.6% per meter water depth

Tests results from a recent independent oxygen transfer test carried out at 5m water depth have shown an oxygen transfer efficiency of 8.6% per meter water depth. The tests were carried out on Suprafilts MF1100 membrane plate diffuser fitted with high efficiency membranes which produce substantially higher oxygen transfer efficiency without increase in backpressure. This results in much higher wire to water efficiency and true energy savings. 5kgO2/kwhr is no longer unusual.
Suprafilt MF1100 membrane plate diffusers can be retrofitted into existing tanks without interruption to the process and without the need to upgrade blowers.

As part of our continued commitment to the environment, Suprafilt Group are delighted to announce our accreditation to ISO 14001. the accreditation covers both Suprafilt Ltd and Suprafilt Fabrications. We would like to thank our Operations Manager, Hannah Nolan, for the excellent work and commitment which she gave to put in place our Environmental Management System.

Energy Saved in Anglian Water

Suprafilt have this week commissioned a new aeration system at Anglian Water's Old Leake STW and realised an immediate 70% saving in energy.

Anglian Water called in Suprafilt when their existing floating surface aerators were struggling to cope with the oxygen demand at Old Leake STW and the plant was at risk of not meeting consent. As the site has only one aeration tank, it was not possible to drain the tank and therefore Suprafilt put forward a liftable aeration grid system which was installed without draining the tank or indeed without disrupting the process as the existing surface aerators continued to operate.

Anglian Water were delighted when the new system was switched on and the reduction in energy was immediately apparent saving Anglian Water in excess of £10000.00 per year in energy cost as well as improved reliability and eliminating the risk of failing consents.

Demand increasing for high efficiency Suprafilt MF1100 membrane plate diffusers

2008 has kicked off with a bang with an influx of contracts for the MF1100 membrane plate diffuser, with orders arriving for sites in Scottish Water, Southern Water and Northern Ireland Water.

Interest in the high efficiency Suprafilt MF plate diffusers is increasing dramatically as energy prices increase and end users seek to reduce whole life cost. On one recent project quote that incorporated high efficiency MF1100’s, the energy saving over 15 years was in excess of £1m at today’s energy prices!
