2018 has been a great year for the business. In pure numbers terms we have enjoyed a record year, with our turnover 50% higher than our previous best.
Key to that has been winning a series of contracts for the innovative Nereda systems. We’ve had three for United Utilities at Kendal, Morecambe and Failsworth and the three for Severn Trent Water at Walsall Wood, Radcliffe and Barston.
The projects in their own right are good news for the sustainability of the business but by winning and delivering them so professionally we have developed a reputation as the UK’s leading Nereda installation team.
It’s also meant that throughout 2018 we’ve been able to strengthen key relationships with the water companies and main contractors like Laing O’Rourke and we have forged a real point of difference in the sector for Suprafilt which helps us stand out from our rivals. The Suprafilt name, our high standards and our friendly approachable manner, is spreading through the industry.
Of course, securing and delivering these projects is not without its challenges but collectively we have risen to them. We’d like to thank everyone for their hard work and support in turning these opportunities into successes that we can all be proud of.
Extra work has also meant additional new faces and we’ve increased the workforce by 10 to cope with the new demand.
There’s also been investment in new equipment too. In the last quarter of the year we had a new crane installed on the shop floor to help us cope with the additional work and make better use of the factory floor.
