-   News Sarah takes on environmental role

Sarah Seddon has taken over environmental compliance in addition to her role that covers health and safety.

Earlier this year Sarah secured a Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice and is currently awaiting results from a NEBOSH environmental qualification.

Her role encompasses all aspects of health and safety including new start inductions, training, weekly toolbox meetings, PPE, risk assessments and weekly site visits to carry out safety inspections. The new responsibilities will cover environmental issues like waste and noise.

“It’s a wide ranging role and it’s very varied which keeps it interesting,” she says.

“As we have grown in recent months it has meant carrying out more inductions, more equipment tests and more sites to visit.” “I’m looking forward to taking on the responsibility for environmental compliance too. It’s important for the business that we take steps to ensure we are compliant in every area.” Suprafilt currently holds the official standard OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety systems and the ISO 140 for environmental standards. Managing Director Graeme Fielden says: “Sarah brings enthusiasm and professionalism to the role and plays a vital role in the business. Health and safety is a massively important consideration in our industry and it’s an area we pay careful attention to.”
