Radcliffe

Suprafilt’s growing experience of Nerada plant installations has helped them to successfully complete another installation at Radcliffe on Trent, near Nottingham.
Project Overview
Client:
Severn Trent Water
Delivery Contractor:
Nomenca

The aeration specialist was asked to build and install the Nereda internals into three Nereda reactors for Nomenca at the Severn Trent Water waste water treatment works.

Why Nereda?

Nereda is the wastewater treatment technology that purifies water using the unique features of aerobic granular biomass. Nereda is sustainable and cost-effective: it requires a quarter of the area of conventional activated sludge installations and the process can reduce up to 50% on energy costs.

The Racliffe project was one of three contracts awarded to Suprafilt at the same time. The others included Walsall Wood, which has already been completed, and Barston.

Why Suprafilt?

They were awarded the contract based on their previous track record for successfully installing the cutting-edge aeration technology.

Graeme Fielden, Sales Director at Suprafilt, said: “Learning from previous Nereda contracts, the majority of the internals were built off site and transported in modules to site to reduce the installation time. We are constantly refining our designs for these types of projects, taking account of lessons learned on previous Nereda projects and solutions to their complexities.”
