Innovative aeration specialists Suprafilt have a long-established relationship with the University of Sheffield.

The company, which provides aeration solutions for both industrial and municipal waste water schemes, worked with academics at the University to investigate the use of fine bubble as a faster, more efficient way of producing Bio Ethanol The £2.2million research project was in collaboration with three of the largest ethanol producers in Europe and Suprafilt were responsible for the installation and fabrication of micro bubble technology test sites with tanks measuring 2m deep.

Professor Will Zimmerman from the University said: “Suprafilt is like a gazelle. They are able to think on their feet and easily adapt and change direction as necessary. They are technical, practical problem solvers.”
